When we talk about meeting someone through photography the first thought that comes to our mind is the portrait genre. We look for a face image that clearly defines the person identity; but what happen if we think about a recognition of an individual beyond a portrait or a daily narrative, where we use the image to focus our interest in something that catches our attention of that specific individual as our photographic model.
The idea of What/Where/Why/Who? project is to create photographic chapters on objects and spaces to achieve closeness to the traditional portrait. The context, the individual life, beliefs and hobbies as proximity resources of mediation and exchange, towards to design a personality metaphor taking into account a mental location of who we are identifying through photography.
The character of this photographic series is Ángel Gutiérrez, a 92-year-old man who lives alone and spends his days creating a fantastic world through small objects/toy.
